steering column

Post by joe hermanek »

I replaced the turn signal piece in the steering column now i can't get the steering wheel back on it seems like the housing below the shifter has moved up like there is a spring behind it i can't get it to seat with the housing that has the turn signal switch in it, i can get the steering wheel on and bolted down but it doesn't feel right and now the truck wont start as well it's a automatic could it be i don't have it lined up with the neutral safety switch ?
I havent connected any of the wires coming out of the column could that be why the truck wont start i didnt think any of those wires coming off the turn signal piece would have anything to do with the neutral safety switch its a 1971 f-250 automatic thanks

Take a look at my rebuild thread and see if it shows you anything you might have out of whack. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 74#p650911
