Newbie

Post by JerseyJoe67 »

Hello to all,
Proud new owner of a 68 Bumpside longbed that I just brought home 2 weeks ago Saturday.
First order of business was to change all the fluids & bleed the brakes as there weren’t any to speak of lol .
Truck has a 360 with some long tube headers , which sound pretty good .
There’s some tapping in the motor at idle which I’m hoping is just some sticky valves but with my luck, who knows ... I really haven’t had much of a chance to take her out for a nice ride .

Plans are to clean her up & fix as much of the rust/rot spots as I can while still cruising around enjoying my “new” ride .
I’ve ordered an original inner fender which should be here tomorrow along with some used NOS emblems , LED tail lights & a Dashboard Jesus to watch over us .

Overall the truck is in pretty decent shape and I’m not really looking to invest too much $ fixing her up other than just having a fun, safe weekend cruiser .

I’ve been trying to upload some pics from my phone but it keeps telling me the file is too large .

Thanks for the welcome, Dave.

Yes the drivers inner fender where it bolts up to the firewall is pretty rotted...the passenger side has some rot but not too bad.
All in all the truck is pretty good presentable shape...now if i can only get the pics to load :?
