Firewall pad

Post by BigAl47 »

Need ideals on replacing firewall pad or doing carpet. What have some of you done. Any pictures would be nice. I’m leaning towards carpet on my 72 f250
Thanks

Went with carpet over the original rubber floor mat - helped with noise and looks much better IMHO - bought it from Auto Custom Carpet and it fit perfectly but you'll have to put the holes in it for your seat tracks and belts...

Went with a copy of the original soft firewall pad which I'm not happy with because of the way it fits - if I have to do it again I'll get a hard plastic one - I think LMC and Dennis Carpenter sell those.......

The cheap firewall pads from E-bay are real pieces of crap. I ordered one and was not happy with it at all. I went with the expensive one from Dennis Carpenter. The next truck I restore, I plan to cut carpet for it. I pulled one out of a Ranger and am saving it for a pattern.

I saw firewall pads on macsautoparts. Does anyone have personal experience with them?
