Tire size on F250 High Boy

Post by gleaner »

Has anyone tried 315/70R17's

Im lookin at putting them on my 75 and am curious if they will be to tall 2.6" taller than stock 7.50x16s.

I did a little searching and there are lots of tire discussions I didn't see this size. I am looking at it specificatly as it is wider and has a lot of choices and price points are better than 33X12.50 17s and 17s in general because of the same reasons.

If the 17" wheels have the correct backspace to keep the tires away from the frame and any steering linkage and the suspension is in reasonably good shape, then yes they should fit. I ran 900/16's that were 36 X 11.5" on my stock 73 and 305/85X16 Mudders (36 X 10.5) on my stock 75. If the Mudders were still made I would be running them still. The wheels I use are 16"X 7.5" with 3.75" backspace.
