I thought I had a C4, but the filter says it's a MX. Does anyone have any info on the MX, and do you know why I have a MX when it should be a C4?

If I'm not mistaken '67 was the last year for the fmx in the F-series.

I saw a chart that shows all trans filters at an auto shop, and the MX is different than the FMX. Do you know if this is a good trans or not?

It seems good, but I was hoping to compare it to a C-4 or a C-6 with some specs or experience.

Once again...

FYI: Ford-O-Matic was the first automatic transmission from Ford Motor Company. First introduced in 1950, the Ford-O-Matic evolved into the Cruise-O-Matic in 1958 and the FMX in 1968. This line continued in production until 1980, when the AOD was introduced.

How's that!

Well jd aren't they both transmissions! :P

The MX's are the Truck versions of the Cruise-O-Matic Hydrostatic Transmission Family.

Built stronger ya'no, with more "PUMPATUDE"...
