There was a ton of mud dauber nests under the front drum. This hasn't been actively on the road in a while. Learned you have to pull the bearings to get to the front brakes. Who knew?

Here's most of the parts for a full brake restoration. Minus the rigid lines.

Will you be buying a full brake line kit or doing a DIY job?

At this point I'm hoping I can reuse all the rigid lines. It will all depend on if I can disconnect them without breaking the fittings. If that's a success I will blow the lines out with compressed air and go from there. I have all new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, frame to axle flex lines, brake shoes, bearings, seals, drum spring rebuild kits. Pretty big undertaking. While I'm in there I'm gonna do the front I-beam pivot bushings and control arm bushings. Next weekend is rebuild time :D

I just did pretty much the same thing, plus making new lines (Inline Tube doesn’t have a kit for F250s :( ). Fun! I need to do the radius arm and I-beam pivot bushings soon too. My radius arm bushings are almost completely gone.

Yeah all of our older drum front brake vehicles are like that LOL.

Nice shop and good decision on the brakes, (to go that through of a job on them).
And good...luck with the old lines, (as most twist right at the flare fitting) when trying to remove due to not having been worked on for so long. And if I had to do it again I'd def buy another double flare kit and make my own brake lines as no one ever seems to have the correct kit for our application.

Got the driver's side axle pulled today. Surprisingly the ridged brake line on both front wheels broke free without much damage

Was wondering why you tore into it so far for just the brakes so had to go back and fins this.

You'll be so...glad you replaced the radius arm bushings but might want to seriously think about taking it one step further. While you have the ablity to do so grind the OEM steel rivets out of the radius arm brackets where they bolt to the frame reail and replace them using Grade-8 bolts. You'll be so...glad you did when 5-10 years from now you need to replace the radius arm bushings again.

That makes sense. That way all you have to do is unbolt and slide the bracket off to replace the bushing. I will definitely think on that. Thank you!

Real...easy right now to take a 4.5 right angle grinder and grind the rivets off, (as you have alot...harder time doing that once the radius arms are back in place).
