$69,500 Bumpside

Post by MikeB »

Y’all should see the bumpside that just sold on Bring A Trailer. Bumps are finally getting the attention they deserve.

oh yes looks nice BUT not worth it, I saw at least 10 items on first glance that makes this truck not worth it and if these items where not address then how many more,, How come I cannot see the inside of the floor of the bed ??? all I see is a black top on topside of the bed and if it was bed liner means many things, If I was going to buy a truck will not be this one since I have seen so many wrong things, so still looks nice BUT NOT 69,500

Whoaaa, Agree its a nice truck but how on earth did it rack up 69k? It didn't have the right mirrors on it. heck for essentially 70 grand I would like to at least have power brakes  Dang, guess i will need to pull mine out of the barn one by one and paint them and BAT them off!

Yes that’s way high but the market dictates value. It’s worth what someone is willing to pay. If you’ll notice it was actually a bidding war. I think bumps are getting noticed and starting to follow the broncos and some of the GMCs. Our society is Starting to move away from sedans and towards SUVs and trucks. Even Ford has announced its intention to stop making cars. It may be a bubble but even when it pops the values will be high.

Interesting to see the future. I’m working on a 72 highboy Ranger XLT all original including cab from San Jose. The body shop guy was surprised to even see one and told me the Bumps are shooting upon value. :dk: :woohoo:

It's nice but IMHO but not almost $70,000 nice......I understand bump prices are gaining but this reminds me of something my grandpa here to say.... "A fool and his money are soon parted"..........

Why does the truck have "Custom Cab" on the cab and "Ranger" on the bed? Marti Report says it came with a Custom package. Its like a mix n match of trim levels to me but I'm not sure how specific you could get when you ordered a truck back then. The only truck I ever ordered was a 1994 and you could pick a lot and delete a lot, unlike now where its in this package or that one.

It’s a custom Cab with a ranger badge slapped on it for what ever reason.

There was an absolutely beautiful 78 Bronco for sale just a couple of years ago that went for about $40,000. I thought that was a bit much then. But I would much rather have a $40k 78 Bronco than a $70k F250 (of any year!). Of course, 78-79 Broncos are my favorite trucks, but still

I can get a brand new 2020 Superduty F350 Lariat for $65,000, and I would.

I like my '67, and '71, but no way on God's green earth would I ever spend that kind of money on one of these trucks.
too many Fords, no where near 'nuff time.

or, money.

There was a 1959 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside that sold here for the same amount of money. 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree, excellent restoration but I suppose all you need is two competing for the same object at an auction and things happen. The Ford is nice but at that price I would expect at least electric power steering. I didn't see if it had A/C but it sure places some inspiration to do more on my truck. But right now money is the only thing between me and prosperity!
