1970 F250 Camper Special. How difficult is it to replace the Auxiliary Tank?
1970 F250 460 C6 - Project - Currently not running.
1999 Dodge Durango SLT 4 x 4 5.9 Magnum -not running.

You will need to siphon out any gas out of the tank, thru the gas filler tube. Then I would drop the skid plate, and disconnect the gas filler hose, the sending unit wire on the sending unit, and the two other rubber hoses (one on tank and one on sending unit). Then you should be able to have access to the gas tank straps, so they can be disconnected, and you can remove the aux gas tank. I would use something to support / prop up the skid plate and gas tank as you remove them, as they are heavy. As mentioned above, it is very easy. I replaced my auxiliary tank in my 70 f250 SC camper special years ago. I think this was back in 1996 and that tank was from LMC. Its still shiny new inside.
