360/390 motor swap

Post by ddcrim »

I have a 74 F250 truck with an original 360 that is on it's last legs. I found a 390 with stamp code D3TE. The
question is, will it swap out? I heard before about perches and all. Any ideas ?  D3TE tells me it's a 1973 390.
Were there any changes from 73 to 74 motors?

As Duck said....but be sure you are not getting another 360, unless you want one. Far more 360s in that era than 390s
71 F-100 SB 4x4, 461 FE, Edelbrock Pro-flo 4, 4 speed, 4 inch softride lift, all poly bushings, integral PS, most mods installed since the 80's
70 Mustang Sportsroof 489 FE, EFI, TKO-600 5 speed, 4.11s
Engine building by-appointment only--30+ years, specializing in strong street pump gas FEs
