Aftermarket Tachometer in F600 Cluster

Post by shybutpsycho »

Has anyone found an aftermarket tachometer that fits in the F500+ instrument clusters? I've searched high and low for an 3 3/4 in dash tachometer to no avail. I'd rather not up size to 4" and cut the cluster. Any leads (even custom places) that make something in this size. Looking for an aftermarket electric tachometer, not the original mechanical. Thanks for any and all help.

You could try to install speedhut 3 3/8“ gauges in behind the two bigger openings. They should fit under the Outside chrome Ring so that you only see the glass through.
You have to figure out how to fix them from behind...

I‘ll give this setup a try when I‘m Ready with the truck itself, but maybe you like to do that first 8)

You can customize them to the Style you want.

I searched for a matching style 3 3/4" tach for a year or so. Nothing out there that looks good. So, I used a 3 3/8" gauge. It is closer to the factory speedo size and easier to mount.

Thanks. I tried a 3 3/8. It's just too small. I finally just combined the 3 3/8 with the original 3 3/4 mechanical tach. That worked great for over 7 years...but now the needle came off. I'm not going to tear into it again. Over on facebook someone suggested a 4inch cobra tach that matches up nice. Just leary about oversizing the cluster. I guess I have some thinking to do. Thanks for the input.

Here's what I did. About 2:40 into the video on the F600 cluster.
