Replacing bench seat cover question

Post by bph »

Hi all,

I ordered a beautiful replacement seat cover for my 70 F250 and have found that the portions of the seat cover that wrap under the seat frame to be hog tied to the frame by way of a guide wire are way too long.

Can the guide wire be mounted elsewhere, perhaps to the lowest tier of seat springs?

I've tried rolling the excess length up around the guide wire and then hog tying that to the original mounting points, but the thin leather above the hog tie begins to tear

Maybe add to the 'cushioning' of whatever type you are using?
Just an idea to consider, may not be a possibility depending on your specific situation... :?

That was my thought.
It looks like the springs were refurbished. Did you use a replacement foam?

It’s definitely a 67-72 bench seat, right?
