Intake manifold question

Post by 69fordkh »

I have a 69 f-250 with a 390. It has a 2bbl intake. I want to upgrade to a 4bbl intake. I have a line on a cast c5 intake he says it is a high port intake. Will it work with my heads. I have no casting numbers for the heads as yet. Thanks

I cant answer your question , but if i was going swap intakes on an F E I'd go with an aluminum one.
You'll save a lot of weight and it'll flow better.
What are you going to use for a carb? 600cfm 4 bbl? If so you'd be money ahead by by putting a 500cfm 2bbl on your existing intake. :2cents:
It depends on how you're using the truck , are you using the truck for performance or just cruising around?

Aluminum intakes are a little spendy. I use the truck to haul materials, general use I would say. I have thought about a 500 cfm 2bbl. Just haven't researched the numbers.
