302 Dipstick

Post by jgf100 »

HI,
Machine shop that worked on my engine misplaced the dipstick for my 70 302 W. The dipstick location is on the timing cover. Does anyone know what is the correct length of the stick for a replacement?

Thanks

I believe I have one buried out in my shop, I'll try to dig down to it today.
Be advised most parts stores will try to sell you cheap JACKIE CHAN chrome plated I never had luck sealing into the timing cover.

Thanks for that. I did end up buying this one on summit racing, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sdk-c5az-6750-ac, but would like to confirm length.

There was another post on here where the shop ripped off the original dipstick. I paid $40.00 for an original and it's the first thing I check when I pick up my truck from the shop.
