1968 F100 power steering help!

Post by Jsurges323 »

Hello, I have a 1968 f100 2wd automatic 360 v8 with no a/c. I am trying to gather the parts to add power steering. As of now, I have a steering column and Saginaw box from a 1978. I want to buy the pump new, and find the rest of the parts. I know there are good resources on this site, but there seems to be a few variables in a bunch of this stuff. If anyone has part numbers and/or pictures of the pieces, it would be very helpful. Im specifically looking for good info on the pulley, h.balancer, pump, pump brackets, and hoses. Thanks in advance!

Do you have the double or single belt setup? I have the double belt pulleys on mine and may be able to help with part #'s since I switched my '68 over - used all stock parts right down to shortening the column shaft.

It actually has three pulleys, with one belt currently on it. Thanks for any input!

Ah shoot - mine has the double alternator belt setup so any of the pulley numbers I have won't be right for what you have. As far as the hoses I got the pressure line from NAPA and I made my own return line because for some reason I couldn't find the right one. If I can get it to work I'll post a picture of the pump bracket I have on mine and see if I can find a part # on it.

Without a doubt the best PS pumps on the market, (and their price reflects it I'm told too). :D
