Article 1112 - Field Repair of Stripped Seat Belt Floor Attachments

TSB #70 - June 23, 1967
(All Ford Vehicles)

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

In the event the seat belt anchor plate or attaching bolt threads are stripped, through improper service techniques, the following two basic methods of repair are recommended:

1. On single belt floor mounts, the threads in the seat belt mounting plate
are to be drilled out and retapped to accomodate a 1/2-13 bolt (slightly larger in diameter than the existing bolt).
2. On multiple belt floor mounts, in addition to drilling and tapping the hole, a locking nut is to be added to the seat belt anchor from the underside of the floor pan.

Refer to the following parts listing, application charts and illustrations relative to the repair of seat belt floor
attachments. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE INDICATED STANDARD PARTS REPLACEMENT MUST BE ADHERED TO, WITH NO SUBSTITUTIONS, IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PROPER SPECIFICATIONS. In addition, the end of the seat belt attached to the floor must be positioned as illustrated.

In order to perform the aforementioned corrective procedures, it is necessary to procure the following components on an as required basis.
