Dash

Post by maverickfe390 »

Does anyone know how the dash is installed at the Factory are they spot welded or bolted in on a 1972 cab? The reason is I just got a 1972 pickup ( the cab forward no bed ) Because my dash on my 1967 is really differnt then the 72 my heater controls are pull out cable not like the 72,The 72 has factory A/C . I want too use the A/C in the cab of the 67.

Thanks

they are all spot welded in. you wil have to cut that area to fit the heater controls in if you want to use it.

Yeah....I have! :D

I was wanting to to the exact same thing to my '67. I had a '68 cab with a good dash and decided to spend one afternoon seeing just how difficult it would be to remove it, for future transplant into the '67. I had to drill out about a bajillion spot welds and finally got it out, but then decided that I didn't want to have to go through it again on the '67, so I ended up just cutting out the center dash section and used it instead.

Here's a picture of the removed dash, showing all the drilled-out spotwelds:

Take a look at the following pages of my '67 build-up for more pictures:
