Dent side seats in a Bump side

Post by max03 »

My 68 f100 has 80's model seats placed inside unbolted from the PO, after a trip to the local junkyard today I noticed a nice factory bench seat in a dent side. Will it be a direct fit? My main concern is that I don't have my factory tracks to swap out.. Anyone tried this? Thanks!

Yes, it bolts right in if it's from the dent era (73-79). I'm not too sure about 80 models and above though. I did have to cut on the dent seat "latch" on both sides for it to not hit on my in cab fuel tank though.
Here's the tutorial which will tell you a lot more:

They will actually both bolt in. You could remove the seat tracks from the dent side model and bolt them to the 80's model.

I have this one in my 72

I have a dent side seat in my truck, fits fine but the seating position is a fair bit different to the bump side seats. Although I'm not sure if it's just mine though coz it's been reupholstered etc.

Same here. My dent-seat seemed have a more reclined position. I made some tapered wood spacers, faced the seat track side with sheet aluminum, installed with longer fasteners. It's now similar to the original seat.
