Handbrake

Post by Weapon_F »

Hey guys, i have been looking for photos of my handbrake setup, and how it is supposed to work / latch into place! do you guys have these setups? i have only seen photos of the foot operated setup. if any of you guys have one and can throw up a couple pics of it in the on and off position and the latch part that would be great!

That's actually the first handbrake I've ever seen in a bump.
Here's a diagram for it:

The bigger trucks have them but I think they came through the floor. Been a while since I played with one.

Your auto shifter setup looks interesting, mounted on the 'drivers' but I thought the auto's shifted from the other side (at least they do in the US)

thanks for the diagram, hopefully i can get it working like the factory intended, the truck will need to pass a roadworthy inspection once the rebuild is complete.

as for the auto shifter, I don't think it's standard, i think it's part of the conversion the truck had by one of the previous owners, which was poorly executed at every turn...

the handbrake seems standard, i think the F-100 customs we had delivered over here were a thrown together box of parts.... kind of whatever they had lying around to make them australian road legal.
