Looking to replace my worn out factory bench seat. What is the best bolt in option? I know there is a write up on it. I'd like something easy to find in the salvage yard and get redone. The lightning seats look awesome...but probably hard to find.
Any pics would be great. Thanks!

Re: Bench seat...
Keith put together an awesome tutorial of all the different options we have here. I put a 79' model into mine last year and you will not believe how much more comfortable it is-compared to the original 71.

Re: Bench seat...
I just put a 85 F250 seat in my 72 and it looks right at home in my cab. It is a little better in the comfort department than the original. Around about 1990 they started using the more contoured seats with built in headrests, they don't look as original. They can have fold down armrests and cup holders, etc. I would just go to a PicknPull and wonder around and see what you can find. I had to dye mine, I would rather an original that was grey with black trim, but all black doesn't look bad.

Re: Bench seat...
One thing I forgot to mention is that my 79 seat I installed sits about 2" higher which made it tight getting your legs under the steering wheel when getting in or out of the truck. My tilt steering was my fix for that though.

Re: Bench seat...
I took a day and went thur 2 junkyards and found a nice leather 60/40 out of a 80's caddy. I'm going to cut the 60 down so I will have 2 bucket seats and put a center console with 2 tens in it. I got 2 power bases from 80's explorer to mount the seats on, only a 2 wire hook up. (Got the base idea from another member) Point is if you try to find a particular seat it will most likely drive you crazy trying to find one. Take a day, get seat measurements and just go thur the yard until you find one in good shape you like. Good luck!
