Anyone Have a Rotary Switch for Their Fuel Tanks?

Post by colnago »

So, I started another thread that took a life of its own concerning the fuel tank selector switches in our trucks. I have a rotary switch on my dash for selecting which tank to show on the dash. Everyone who has replied to the other thread has said that Ford used a toggle switch for right/left tanks, or main/aux tanks. I actually have three tanks on my truck (cab, saddle, and aftermarket tank on the passenger side). Does anyone else have this setup? Does anyone else have a rotary-style selector switch on their dash?

Thanks,

Joseph

And out of curiosity, those who have toggles or rotary switches, are they in F 100's or 250's or 350's? Both of my 67's are F 100's and both have a toggle switch instead of the rotary switch.

No trucks came from the factory with that style of rotary switch...that would have been added by a previous owner, probably to replace a malfunctioning factory switch. He would've just used the factory bezel to keep it looking semi-correct and he mounted it in the dash instead of under the dash where it was supposed to be.
