When you pulled your heater, was the kick panel full of leaves and crap? Mine is! Leaves, acorns, and enough cotton fluff to nest generations of rodents! I am hoping a high power vacuum will get most of it out..... What did you use? is there a drain hole in the bottom that I need to check? It seems as though the hole in the kick panel is directly connected to the vent in the cowl so where does the water go?
Thanks,!

Just done this. Be sure to get the drivers side as well. My truck was garaged most of its life, except when my uncle was driving it and parked in parking lot at his work and it was still slap full of leaves and pine needles. So I can only imagine what the ones look like that have spent their entire life outside around trees.

Soooo... got it all cleaned out, got the heater fixed, went to putting it back in and tore that stupid boot. I knew it felt dry and "crackly" but at $40 I was hoping it would hold up! NOT!!! Humbug!

Re: Behind the heater!
I was gonna try to patch mine when i did my heater.
But went ahead and bit the bullet as it's so...hard to get to it, (or rather to properly bolt it back in) I found.
Worth it to me to get the new boot and walk away for years to come.
