New, Stylish Door Panel Search

Post by mrtleavitt »

I have some nice '72 door panels that I refurbished when I restored my truck about 7 yrs ago. They are nice but definitely outdated. Anybody ever find any newer style door panels for sale? I've seen lots of homemade renditions but I was just curios if I could find some panels that complemented my truck's style. Let me know. Thanks fellas!

Here are my current panels:

That looks darn good to me  But I will keep on the lookout.

Make your own. Get an old pair of panels strip them down to nothing then foam them. Draw a design on the panel then with a razor knife cut out what you drew. Get some material from an old leather couch or what ever material you want to use. Then all you need is some upholstery glue.
You can always make these on the cheap if you use recycled stuff. Paneling, material from old furniture, clean thin foam. Most expensive part would be the upholstery glue. Get a couple of tools, putty knife, small roller that looks like a mini pizza slicer, good sharp scissors, markers color pens that will right on foam. Then have fun.
I'm sure you can get designs off the internet, or just draw what you like, just remember what you draw has to look like the same after you cut your design.
Easiest design, straight lines with "V" cut either vertically or horizontally. Well you get the idea. Just a thought.
