Hello,
New to the forum and thought I should introduce myself prior to posting my question(s). I picked up an original owner '69 Ford Ranger Camper Special 2WD back in February. I believe the interior to be original as well and looks fantastic. My first old truck, but plenty of experience with old cars and motorcycles. Every time I did a search on something related to this truck, this forum comes up, so I thought it was time to join. It is in fantastic shape, already had a 460 upgrade from a 390 in the late 70's, with a C6. Other than surface rust on the steel frame pieces, there is no rust on this vehicle. It is in a amazing shape, but all of the regular things to go were needing some help and attention. I have it on my lift and have dropped the fuel tanks (full of rust) to replace, driveshaft (balance and new u-joints, pulling all the old brake lines and all brake parts (all of it was leaking with many original parts). Since the 460 was not original, I will be doing some upgrades there as well. I also have to do some cleanup on the wiring up front as the PO installed a dual battery setup, which I do not need. Also needed a new radiator.
Since this is Texas, and it does not have AC, I may put in one of the aftermarket AC kits, but I need to get it back on the road first.
I will post pictures when I can, but will likely be posting pics in my threads as well.
More to come!
