Best Power Source Wire for Headlight Halo
I purchased new headlights that have separate LED halos, which are wired separately from the headlights. The wiring for each halo includes a power and ground wire. I would like for the halos to be on anytime the truck is running like a daytime running light. I have some switched ignition sources to grab power near the firewall, but was wondering if there are any sources at the front of the truck that I could tie into? Any help is a greatly appreciated.

Re: Best Power Source Wire for Headlight Halo
Most people install a relay to power halogen/LED headlight upgrades. Pull power straight from the battery. That's what I'll be doing.

There are a few vendors who sell the headlight upgrade as a "kit", (including our founder Keith's employer LMC. I highly recommend buying the parts separately and installing it as the kits add extra "pre cut" wiring and cheap relays. Sourcing the 12 volt relays/circuit breakers/wiring will cost more in the long run but you'll be glad you did. i also added new ceramic lighting sockets to my upgrade with new terminal ends there I'm pretty sure won't come with any "kit".

Re: Best Power Source Wire for Headlight Halo
Pat,
YW and sorry that I'd lost track of those ebay vendors through the years.
Head's up if you do go with the improved ceramic three prong sockets, (versus plastic OEM) sockets be very careful as they break easily. Ask me how I know this LOL?
A 50' roll of red #14 gauge thhn stranded wire, (and one green for dedicated grounds) goes a long ways here.
Building it yourself also lets you do small things to improve the cheap "kits" sold, (insulated terminal ends/dedicated grounds to each light/dedicated relay and circuit breaker location-I housed mine inside a waterproof box on the PS inner fender) and so many other things.

That's why I sent with this harness......it had the ceramic connectors and good relays and was a simple install - only one I ever saw like that! Been a year and haven't had one issue with it......I just gotta see if I have the part # stashed away because I don't see it listed on their site anymore........
