Hello all, almost done with the 4.6 conversion to the 67. Getting ready to pull the trigger on carpet from NPD. Two questions: since I've removed the tank from the cab, should I order the carpet for a 67 W/O tank in cab as per NPD's catalogue? Will that carpet simply be longer to cover to extend to the back of the cab? I asked the tech but he couldnt answer that one. Secondly, I always thought our truck was a big block manual trans ( no motor or tranny when we got it) but it;s been almost fifteen years since we purchased it and I'm wondering how to identify which trans hump we have. It measures approximately 5 inches or so high.
Thanks for any responses
Oh and someone was asking about sound deadener options. I found this stuff called Insul-foil by Wrap On, at my local lumber/home supply store. 12 inches wide by 15 feet long, foil top over closed cell pvc foam with a super sticky adhesive backing. works darn good and about 15 bucks a roll.

Re: carpet questions.
I got the carpet from NPD. There's a recent thread that talks about people's experiences with the carpet kits, but the basics are these: the kit is manufactured by ACC; mine was a bit narrow but others haven't had that problem; my truck came with a Cruise-o-Matic (low hump, maybe 5" high, and flat on top); I bought the long (no-tank) kit even though I have a tank. It was my understanding I would get a better fit length-wise with the longer carpet, but I really wish I didn't buy it. It probably goes up the front of the tank about 8". It does help to deaden the sloshing of the gas, and the knocking from the sending unit hitting the sides of the tank, but it's still too much carpet for me.
I think ACC makes the same kits for all of the Ford catalogs (LMC, MAC's, JCW), but probably not for the higher-priced custom shops. I'm waiting for warmer weather, and hoping that I can stretch my carpet wider some (I have about 1/2" of floorboard on each side that isn't covered).
And thanks for the tip on the insulation. I want to do my doors and roof this summer, so I'll be looking into what others have used. Good luck on the carpet decision; Ihope others join in. And do a search for those other threads; they're not that old, so they should still be on the first page of threads within the Interior forum (I think there are two threads, but there may only be one).
One more comment on the tranny hump. I got a parts truck about a year ago. It had a high hump that was screwed down to the tranny hump. My truck's tranny hump is flat on top, with no cutout. It definitely has the low hump. I'm thinking that the high-hump trucks have a cutout with the cover screwed down, like my parts truck.

Re: carpet questions.
rockauto.com has carpet kits for our trucks for quite a bit less than NPD. I think the carpet is even supplied to them by ACC. They sell dash caps for 70-sum dollars too. Thought I would drop a tip...
